2014 Coach of the Year!

Nedim Hasanbegovic

Congratulations Nedim Hasanbegovic!
Nedim, coach of the U14B United Rapid team, was named the 2014 Competitive Coach of the Year by the Nebraska State Soccer Association.

Excerpts taken from Nedim's nomination form(s) included:

Nedim has always been a sportsmanship type of a player and now that he is a young coach, it is one of the most important things he teaches not only his boys but the parents as well. If you come watch a practice or even the games, his players are always encouraging each other and some even encourage the opposing team. Through the game of soccer, he has been able to teach them to support one another, on and off the field and you can definitely see that when they get on that soccer pitch.

Player development to him comes before anything. This group of boys is very bought in to the system and come to practice every day ready and excited to work and learn. Many of these boys were two and even three sport athletes and because of Nedim’s passion for soccer and teaching, most of them now only play soccer. Because of their passion and work ethic, they push Nedim every day to make practice fun and challenging.

Nedim’s philosophy is Player Development. Nedim has always a been a leader on and off the field. Even though he was a starter at Hasting College as a freshman, he always wanted to learn and be better. Nedim has his National D license and is looking to take his National C very soon. Aside from the courses, Nedim is always watching games, reading articles and searching the net for the next best thing. The next best way to take that from the computer and apply it to his team and the way he wants his boys to play.

Nedim is very involved in the Soccer Community. He regularly attends coachs meetings/clinics in the Omaha area. He is very involved with the Nebraska ODP program and any time he has free from his team and full time job, he is always doing clinicls and helping coach other youth teams in our club.
