Bringing Sports Performance to ESC

ESC & Xplosive Edge Join Forces to Implement Sports Performance Into Our Curriculum

ESC Director, Rob Herringer, recently collaborated with Xplosive Edge Owner and Director of Sports Performance, Gibbie Duval, on a research article that discusses the importance of implementing sports performance into our curriculum at ESC.

Here's an excerpt from the article: "At the Elkhorn Soccer Club, we are dedicated to researching and implementing best practices for the long-term, holistic development of our athletes. Our club-wide curriculum, what we call “The Elkhorn Way”, is built around the philosophy of guiding athletes to their full potential as people and soccer players. In this holistic learning environment, it is essential that we teach the pillars of the game: technical, tactical, physical, mental/emotional, as well as educate our players and families on lifestyle decisions that impact performance such as nutrition and sleep. We also attempt to teach essential life skills to our athletes so they are better prepared to navigate the different challenges both school and society present them along their journey. Accomplishing this is not an easy task, and we rely heavily on qualified and passionate coaches to deliver the curriculum so all players have the opportunity to reach their goals, on and off the field."
