On Saturday, June 8th, over 150 supporters of the Elkhorn Soccer Club came together for the 1st Annual ESC Footgolf Fundraiser at Elkhorn Ridge Golf Course. The event was held in order to raise the necessary funding for repairs to the JPM Soccer Complex, while also creating a special opportunity to recognize ESC members who have made extraordinary contributions to the organization during the 2018-2019 soccer year.
Playing a scramble format on the challenging, yet beautiful 9-hole course, our teams were certainly put to the test. Coming in with a score of 23 was our winning team of: Andy Staberg, Chad Lange, Scott Koel, Drew Johnson and Sandro DeAngelis.
Following the tournament, our participants enjoyed a fantastic dinner while Executive Director, Rob Herringer, presented several of our members with awards in recognition for their hard work and dedication to the Club.
Throughout the event, guests had the opportunity to win 30 raffle prizes and bid on 15 silent auction items. We would like to thank all of our Select teams that put together such amazing raffle baskets, and all of our friends who donated items for the raffle and silent auction. Several ESC families went home with some fantastic items, and the raffle and silent auction raised over $3,000!
This event would not have been possible without the support of our 33 sponsors. We would like to especially thank SunCo for sponsoring the entire event and for all of the work they are doing to get JPM back to the high quality it was in prior to the flood. We are looking forward to returning our club programming to the facility by August 1!
Thank you to Elkhorn Ridge for hosting and to all of the volunteers who helped put the event together- particularly Kathy Rygg, Brenda Gamerl and Rita Urban. Also, thank you to Emily Michaels for working closely with Elkhorn Ridge and the volunteers to provide a fun-filled, successful day for our participants. And lastly, thanks to everyone who participated! We reached our goal of raising $10,000 in our first year, and we could not have asked for a better start to this new tradition.
