This program is for children born in 2014 (5U) and 2013 (6U). Teams are formed based loosely on the school attending.
Players and parent coaches attend one “Play Day” per week organized by the 5U/6U Hive Director and professional staff. “Play Days” consist of Coerver® First Skills training and one 4v4 game (no goalkeepers). Players also have the option to attend training once a week during the season.
Games: Games will be held at Elkhorn Training Camp (Note that this has changed from last season)
*Please note that due to the flooding on March 15th, we have pushed the first week of games back for the 5/6 Hive Academy. Please stay up-to-date with this schedule as we have moved game days to Elkhorn Training Camp and times may have changed*
What to Expect on Game day: 20 minutes of Coerver® First Skills training, where players get lots of touches and are learning new skills, followed by 4v4 Game (no goalkeepers).
Optional "First Skills" Training Sessions:
Wednesday's from 6:30-7:30pm at the outdoor field outside of Thrive Space (800 N. Front St.). Sessions begin Wednesday, March 27 and end on Wednesday, May 1.
What to Wear & Bring to Training:
Soccer ball, water, shin guards, tennis shoes or soccer cleats and the color of shirt listed below. To help us divide players into smaller training groups we are asking that your player wear a shirt that is color coded by their birth month and year. This is just the main color of the shirt. The shirt does not need to be a solid color.
Jerseys/Uniforms: All players must have a jersey to wear for games. A red Adidas jersey can be purchased at Soccer Internationale (2541 S 132nd St. Omaha, NE)

5/6U Coaches Meeting (mandatory): Wednesday, March 13, 6-7 pm at Thrive Space
